This is a song about my girlfriend's dog, Dexter, who has become a constant and welcome companion in my life. More specifically, the song is about that gnawing feeling that I think most pet-owners are familiar with: the knowledge that you will eventually outlive your best friend.

Appreciate your dogs and write songs about them.
